Cattle Squeeze Chute Demos

Why don’t cattlemen do more things to keep their animals healthier, reduce quality defects or return more net profit? One reasons is easy to see---lack of decent facilities. If you can’t catch and hold them, how can you do anything with them?

Lack of handling facilities is the biggest drawback to cattlemen doing the best management practices to assure beef quality. Good, well designed squeeze chutes, crowding tubs and panels can make your work go quickly and smoothly plus ensure you are sending the best quality cattle to the consumers table. Poor handling facilities will make you wonder why you ever bought cattle in the first place.

With dozens of manufacturers, there are plenty of proper and improper designs available for you to purchase. Attend the annual Wichita Farm and Ranch Show and see this equipment in action, plus take the opportunity to operate the chutes in a real live cattle situation. Here is the chance to see all chute manufactures in one facility, watch them in action, compare them and make the buying decision that will improve your operation.

Join us daily at the Squeeze Chute Demo dirt area located on the East Side of Sam Fulco Pavilion. See the latest chutes and other livestock equipment, learn about vaccinations, chute side manners and hear the newest from the pharmaceutical reps. Tim Fuller, area rodeo announcer, will announce the daily events and give his insight of the cattle situation. After each demo, ranchers are invited down to operate the chutes and visit with factory reps. Do not miss the chance to do side-by-side comparisons and shop for the chute that fits your operation.

Ten squeeze chute manufacturers will work 100 head of 500 to 700 lb. steers and heifers just off the range heading for the feedlots. Ear tag manufacturers, animal health providers and crowding tub displays will also be incorporated into the demos.

Listen to KFTI AM 1070 daily as Rex Childs discusses the demos during his noon hour report. Visit with all the KFTI AM/FM Staff opening day, as live remotes run throughout the day from the show floor.
