Cattle Dog Demonstrations

Demo Times

Thursday, 12:30 pm

The Wichita Farm and Ranch Show offers many different activities and attractions to appeal to everyone.

John would like to try a different approach at the 2008 Cattle Dog Demos. In past demos John has brought his own dogs and used them in all three days of demos.

For the 2008 show John is looking for cattle dogs that local ranchers and producers have purchased and are looking for further development/training of their dogs. The two requirements for these dogs are:
  1. Dogs must be one year of age or older.
  2. Dogs must be Border Collie breed.
Please call toll free 800-949-3976 and ask for Steve if you have a dog that may qualify for these free training sessions.

One of these is the Cattle Dog Demonstration held in the Sam Fulco Pavilion location in the Kansas Coliseum Complex. If you have considered a dog or several dogs to help manage your cattle operation; here is the opportunity to see dogs in action plus visit with one of the top breeders and trainers in the area.

John Mannebach, owner and operator of Land of Oz Cattle Dogs, will conduct the demos, have a display booth, have several dogs on display plus be on hand to answer all your questions.

John, along with his Border Collies, will present 45-minute demonstrations daily during the three-day show. The dogs, along with voice commands from John, will work the cattle through various obstacles and maneuvers and then load them into a livestock trailer. John will visit with attendees and give his opinions on what breed dogs make quality cattle dogs. John’s dogs are for sale plus he offers training classes and obedience schools. Visit with John following the daily demos, stop by his display booth at the show or give him a call at 316-796-0461.
